ICC Dog Display Team at Belton International Horse Trials April 2009.

This was a wonderful event and we were so very proud of the dogs who were absolute stars!

Photos / Videos

A huge thank you to everyone who took photos and videos of the weekend. The photographers are currently sorting through their photos and editing the videos and we will be putting photos and videos onto here as soon as possible. Maz (one of the photographers) has also put a number of excellent photos of the event onto his web-site (I highly recommend a look!)

About the Event

In March 2009 Christina was approached by Charlotte, the events manager for James Welbeloved dog food company, to see if she could put together a display team for a 30 minute display on each of the 3 days in the main arena of Belton International Horse Trails. I think at that point both Charlotte and Christina had no idea exactly how big a team this would become! Christina then contacted Wendy, Lorraine and Debbie (ICC's Centre Managers) to ask which dogs they thought would be suitable and a team was born!

Comments from the James Welbeloved Trainers and Events Manager (who invited us to the event.)

Dear 'James Wellbeloved Pet Dog Display Team',

I would just like to let you know what a pleasure it was to have you all involved in Belton this weekend. Having worked around event display teams for some years now, I know what a huge challenge bringing a display together is. Each day, you and your dogs were a total credit to yourselves, our brand and ICC.

It seemed that every time a beautifully groomed, happy, wellbehaved dog passed the stand, that minutes later they were in the trainer area at the back and turned out to be a member of ICC!!

I really feel that the dogs did such a fantastic job and I'm sure that you will all have inspired members of the public who watched the displays to think about handling their own dogs using kind, fair, effective methods and perhaps think about doing some fun training themselves.

Very well done everyone and thank you all so much for what you bought to this weekend for us all, by being at Belton

Very Kind Regards

Charlotte Mann

Hi Christina, ...and we hope that we can take part in future displays. Max has been to Wendy tonight and we are waiting to get him on the Bronze Class very soon. We have great hopes that by this time next year he will be able to make the advanced display……………….if we all work really hard. Max, like all the dogs who attended the event, enjoyed the experience and we all look forward to being involved in the future... Many thanks for inviting us to take part in what for us was the first time that Max had been involved in a display. Kind regards, K.

Hi Christina. Hope you are home ok & managed to unwind after all your work this W/E.
I just want to say thankyou to you & all your instructors for a really super W/E at Belton, I thoroughly enjoyed it & meeting other members of the ICC team, I must admit when Lorraine first asked me if i would like to do it I jumped at the chance, then thought afterwards I must be mad with a dog as young as Boots, but it all worked out rather well. Now back to the hard work on Friday nights. Once again many thanks. B. / Boots.

Thank you Christina, ...What a wonderful weekend, amazing dogs and amazing people, little O. was still buzzing about it at Tuesday's lessons. The display teams did really well and it's lovely to catch up with the days I wasn't there by the You tube video and all the photos. Hope it isn't too long before we catch up again. Take care. H. x

Hi Christina, ...Glad that the weekend went well and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. J.

Hi Chritina, Thanks again for inviting us to Belton. We had a great time and met some lovely people. Daisy was really exited about it. Monday morning came around all too quickly along with work. Well thanks again, J. and S.

I didn't get chance to really meet you or to say goodbye!! I could see how busy you were & I can only imagine how exhausted you must be. Just a quick line to say that I very much enjoyed today so many thanks for inviting me. Goodness only knows how many treats Flaxen had though - not much tea tonight!! S.
