Cambridge Social Walks
A supervised walk in the countryside around Cambridge with other dogs and owners, usually lasting between 1 and 2 hours. A great way to socialise your dog. These walks really help your dog to learn how to communicate effectively with other dogs without the constraints of us asking them to work with us at the same time (as we do in classes.) They are also great fun! The walks start off with the dogs on leads until the dogs have settled down and then they are allowed off lead. Some dogs will run and play together, others will choose to sniff and explore together. Dogs that are worried about other dogs will usually be put at the back of the walk with one or two calm and quiet dogs to increase their confidence until they are ready to mix with more dogs.
We also run puppy walks (with a few well socialised adult dogs to teach the pups good manners!) These walks will be shorter so that puppies' joints are not over used.
If your dog has poor social skills with other dogs we would usually recommend a behavioural course before moving on to mixing them with other dogs in a safe and controlled way.
COST - included in class fees.
