Southwell Social Walks

Great way to socialise your dog and meet others...

A supervised walk through Rufford Park for current and previous clients, with other dogs and owners, usually lasting between 1 and 2 hours. A great way to socialise your dog. These walks really help your dog to learn how to communicate effectively with other dogs without the constraints of us asking them to work with us at the same time (as we do in classes.) They are also great fun!

The puppy walk has off lead play and a stroll round the lake to see the wildlife and lots of people and dogs, followed by a cuppa for the owners at the cafe. The adolescents are on a lead/line and can interact nicely and then practice social skills in the group around the lake and at the cafe when we stop for coffee. Wendy is there to help owners to know how best to handle their dogs with the other users of Rufford Park.

If your dog has poor social skills with other dogs we would usually recommend a behavioural course before moving on to mixing them with other dogs in a safe and controlled way.

COST - £3 per walk, per family.

Walk dates and times - all walks meet at the Mill Car Park in Rufford Park

  • N.B. please change of location to Mill Car Park, not the Main Entrance Car Park
